Hi,
I was at the gig in Nijmegen in 1981, the only extra I can give you on that gig is that it was a double-gig with the Au-pairs and the weather was good (openlucht means open-air). Nobody had heard from the band at the time, but me and a few friends were instant fans! Willem (Nijmegen) |

I saw The Sound play live 10 times in total.
The first time was in Nijmegen (NL) at the open air concert in park De Goffert at 15 August 1981. I was very impressed and as a result saw them again the day after in Rotterdam at the Newpop festival. The next week I coincidentally met Max Mayers and the band's manager at that time in Diogenes a club in Nijmegen (the band appeared to be staying in a hotel not too far from there) and the day after I went to see them play again in Amsterdam. Ever since that week I have been a big fan. I used to write my impressions on concerts down in a notebook (and still do). Typical remark coming back in most Sound concerts is that they played so many new songs that you didn't know yet from their records. And usually they immediately made a good impression at me.
